Objective(s):

-         To introduce students to the field of project management and highlight growing importance of the field.

-         To introduce PMI and PMBOK, and understand project management from their perspectives.

-         To understand the basic concepts associated to the field.

-         To understand the standard for project management for a project

-         To understand and apply core functions of project management i.e. project scope, time, cost, and quality management.

-         To understand and apply facilitating functions of project management i.e. project human resource, communications, risk, and procurement management.

-         To understand project integration management and how it integrates the core and facilitating functions of project management.

MICROSOFT OFFICE PROJECT STANDARD 2007 COMPONENT

 

Objective:

The main objective of the component is to enable participants to effectively use Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007 as a project management tool across different stages of project life cycle.

 

It focuses on the use of this tool for planning projects; tracking progress; analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of project issues or problems; and reporting project progress to project stakeholders.

 

The component builds on participants learning in the preceding modules and complements the same with practical experience. The learning process of the tool gradually moves from beginner level to intermediate level.

Prerequisite

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
